  • You can download standard raw files (VCF, gVCF, or CRAM)
  • Files are in standard formats usable by third-party tools
  • File ownership is clearly documented — you keep the data
  • Download access persists over time, not just a one-time window

Lab tiers

Full genome with downloadable files

30x whole-genome sequencing with VCF, gVCF, or CRAM download. This is the strongest starting point for long-term use.

  • • Look for explicit raw file download in VCF, gVCF, or CRAM format
  • • Check whether re-download is available after the initial delivery
  • • Confirm file ownership policy is stated clearly

Regional providers with clear delivery

Providers with documented download processes for your region. The test itself may be comparable, but delivery transparency matters.

  • • Confirm file download is a documented feature, not a support request
  • • Test whether support can answer raw file questions before you buy

Providers requiring manual retrieval

Some providers require claim codes, email requests, or manual steps to retrieve files. These can work, but confirm the process before ordering.
